"PUBIC HAIR IS A FACT OF LIFE!" -mom
December 27, 2004 - 2:57 pm

life has been interesting and exciting and busy again. although i am glad, i feel guilty that i have been neglecting this thing.

in some not too interesting but fucking HILARIOUS news, i started the school semester off by failing 2/3 of my classes, and ended up getting Bs in all three of them. how i managed to pull that off, i have no idea. next semester, beth and i are taking a class called "history of the black death." an entire class dedicated to the bubonic plague! how great is that.

i have been hanging out with mr. jimmy valentine for the past few weeks. he really IS as nice as i thought. i am not imagining it. one day he took me to the natural history museum and i ran around like a little kid. mostly we just sit around and watch things and wrestle each other because i don't even like to leave the house in the winter. as great as he is, i still feel damaged and i don't know if i could handle it. he told me his story last nite and after i told him mine, it was quiet for a few moments and i admitted, "i hate that story." then i proceeded to cry all over him. haha. i don't know what will happen from here, but he is amazing and i know this and i hope i don't go messing things up.

TWELVE TWENTY-ONE WAS NAPOLEON DYNAMITE DAY!! it came out on dvd and you know i had to get it. the napoleon dynamite nerd pajama party is coming up on january 8th, so mark your calendars. more info will probably be in my next entry.

one nite, ken jansen (can someone please tell me how to spell his name right already?) came over to bring us cinnamon rolls. we never really met him before. that was the best.

the day it started getting really shitty outside was the most fun day of work at assworld ever. i got stuck trying to leave my street in the morning and almost didn't make it at all. i was a half hour late, but when i got there none of my managers were there to open the door yet either. only about 7 people ended up coming in, so that wasn't enough of a crew to get anything accomplished in the back room. we spent the whole day going out onto the floor and picking the most ridiculous outfits to wear, and then wearing them the entire time. i had on a terrible 80's purple dress with flowers on the bottom, and this rainbow-colored floppy straw hat. we took a lot of pictures and they rule a lot. we got sent home at lunchtime. awesome. christmas was a great time this year. mostly, all i cared about was giving andrew the "novocaine for the soul: the 90s alternative boxed set" that we have spent the last two months making. beth and i collaborated and made 15 mixtapes that included almost everything from our gradeschool days of buzzard radio that me, andrew and beth remember fondly. we made our own box set and covered the box in pictures of bands from our old circus and hit parader magazines that we still have. you name it, i'm sure it was on there. tons of stone temple pilots, nirvana, pearl jam, green day, oasis, garbage, etc., as well as the bands that had one or two hits like hum, tripping daisy, dead eye dick, the flaming lips, ruth ruth, etc. the present was fabulous and i was so proud of us, and when we gave it to andrew he looked at every tape like 10 times. i think he loved it. i hope.

although i did not get my talking napoleon dynamite watch (sob), people gave me really nice things. my ultimate gift was when my brother chris found a huge elvis bust that is also a lamp IN THE TRASH. he had to rewire it but now it works perfectly and it looks SMASHING in the sugar shack. shit, yo! my boss gave me an awesome book called "hillbilly hollywood" about country and western fashion. it has pictures of sweet old cowboy shirts and such. beth brought on the rock and gave me a motorhead boxed set (!!!) and a guitar wolf dvd. whee! my family gave me the freaks and geeks boxed set and the yellow napoleon dynamite shirt that has the "reach for the stars" logo of pedro riding the dragon from his campaign flyer. haha it rules. beth's boyfriend tim made me this awesome framed picture with pinup girl pictures inside and old pinup girl matchbox covers. its so cute. oh gosh i got a lot more stuff and i can't possibly type it all but it was awesome.

on christmas eve, a big package arrived from FL. it was from beth's friend jim, and inside was tons of hot trash merchandise that he had designed and printed up especially for us! there were white girly short sleeved shirts, black long sleeved girly shirts, gray tshirts, black hoodies, and stacks of magnets with 4 different designs! we were speechless. it must have cost a fortune to do that! the note inside the package said "no hit radio show is complete without swag! happy holiday, girls!" so now if anyone would like to sport a hot trash tshirt just let us know because we have some left. we have magnets left, too. wow!

i stayed over my parents house on christmas eve. my brother chris was baking cookies, and when he got bored of the molds for the cookie gun he began making his own shapes. he made facial feature cookies, like an ear, a nose, and a mustache. i kept finding all these half-eaten candy canes hanging on my family's christmas tree and i found out that chris was responsible. he also insisted that girls have stupid scents for their deodorants, like "pretty blossom flowers in the spring meadows...or peaches!" that kid is a riot sometimes. when chris was trying to pass out his face cookies, i heard my mom yell "save it for breakfast! everybody loves noses for breakfast!" i loved it. i love my family. christmas day everyone came over to my family's house. beth got the bright idea for all of us kids to sneak and play the farkel family like we used to at family parties when we were little. basically, all this entailed was putting on ridiculous outfits and each taking on a first name that began with the letter F to be one of the farkels. then we would parade around downstairs to make our parents laugh and that was the end of it. we ran upstairs to tell all of our siblings and they all agree. amy summed it up best when she said "can you think of any other family with kids ranging in ages from 15-23 that would do something like this?" anyhow, here is the result, so enjoy.

plenty of other fun things have been going on: my brother chris's 18th birthday and meeting his first girlfriend, angie's 23rd birthday, lacey's graduation party. this entry is already so long, i can't go into any more detail except to say that things are cooooool, daddy-o. and it's about time.

almost time for today's installment of HOT TRASH, so go turn on your radio, fool!

xoxo
