i will keep to my new years resolution of sorts and not talk about boys in here. besides that, i am not the sort of person that can just tell all kinds of intimate details in a public place like this and not care who might see it. in a way i wish i was, because then my life might seem interesting for once. things have been like a bad lifetime movie lately, but i can't say there has been one dull moment. time has been spent corrupting young boys, going on dates and getting flowers, near run-ins with old flames in the most unlikely of places, hiding boys in my room because i know that my roommate does not approve of them...crazy, i tell you.
i went to the elvis birthday tribute last weekend at the state theater. they had three elvis impersonators there that are supposed to be some of the best around, as well as his original drummer dj fontana playing drums and his original backing group the sweet inspirations singing. one of the impersonators (who is only 20 years old) did all the early rockabilly/rocknroll stuff and also songs from some movie soundtracks, and he was soo good. he looked like him, talked like him, sang like him, laughed like him. the second guy did middle year stuff when elvis was in the military and also '68 comeback special stuff. he sang like him and looked like him, but he couldn't talk like him enough to convince me. the guy who did 70s elvis was also amazing. his laugh was perfect. so were his dance moves. and his singing. and the way he talked. DANG! i sat in the balcony and refused to put my glasses on and CONVINCED myself i saw elvis in concert that nite. fan-fucking-tastic. i recommend it to everyone next year. so much fun. needless to say, my elvis obsession is in full swing right now, and i can't stop listening to "such a nite" and "got a lot o' livin to do," both of which i just downloaded and recently heard for the first time in my life.
i am very excited for the ? + the mysterians show that is coming up soon this month. even better was when i got a voicemail from beth, telling me that guitar wolf was coming in march "just in case i wanted to know." they have been my new loves ever since watching "wild zero" at lacey and ezra's last year. watching the live dvd beth got me for christmas, all i could say was GOSH i wish they would tour here! and happy early birthday to me, they are. wheee.
i feel like i'm outta control.
xoxo
