meet the kids

today kept having movie moments. you know those ones where it seems too perfect and planned to be real, like you were watching your life on a movie screen? let me introduce the cast before laying out the scenes. names have been changed for the hell of it:
lil dude #1: age 4
lil dude #2: age 2
boy: well, uh, him
girl: quite predictably, me

boy: you could come back later, if you wanted...
#1: [overhearing conversation] maybe she could come over later and have a pajama party with us!
boy: NO! DADDY DOESN'T DO THAT!
girl: [laughing uncontrollably] THAT was the best thing ever..!

[arriving back home after a day at the park]
#2: [looking sad] she's leaving?
boy: what?
#2: she's leaving.
boy: i don't know, that's up to her.
girl: you want me to leave?
#2: yes. no.
girl: you want me to go home?
#2: no.
girl: [laughing]i think he's telling me to go home.
boy: no, he isn't.

[after saying goodbye]
#1: maybe you could stay and play with us and THEN go home.
girl: no, i should probably go now.
#2: i want a kiss!
girl: you want a kiss?!
#2: AND a hug!
[hugs and kisses]
girl: bye, have fun!
#1: ok, see you next time!

i am still a mess. but today was great. hahaha.
